The Astronomy and Astrophysics Group at UPC Barcelona

The Astronomy and Astrophysics Group (GAA) gathers researchers from the Department of Physics of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) since 1995. Currently, the GAA consists of 5 faculty members, 1 Ramon y Cajal fellow (tenure-track position), and 7 PhD students. 

The research interests of the GAA comprise a wide spectrum of areas in Astronomy & Astrophysics, mostly in stellar structure and evolution. The main research interests of the group are:

In the period 2000 – 2017, the GAA members have published 345 refereed papers, 7 invited review papers, 1 book, 5 book chapters and 244 non-refereed publications, and has advised (or co-advised) 22 PhD Theses in these topics.

The GAA is currently located in two campuses: the Campus Diagonal-Besòs (Barcelona) and the Campus Castelldefels  (Castelldefels, 15 km south of Barcelona).
