The Konkoly Observatory in Budapest, Hungary, is the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and conducts astronomical observations and modeling of astrophysical objects.

The Konkoly Observatory is part of the Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Eötvös Loránd Research Network (ELKH). With eight research groups AND more than 50 astronomers, it is the largest research institute in Hungary for astronomy. Research covers a wide range of topics including variable stars, the interstellar medium, stellar nucleosynthesis, the solar system, and cosmochemistry.

Konkoly Observatory is the Astronomical Institute of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences, the leading institute of astronomy and astrophysics in Hungary with dynamically expanding research areas, staff, and excellence. Main research areas pursued in the Observatory are observations and theoretical modeling of variable stars, exoplanets and planetary system formation, infrared astronomy and stellar formation, stellar activity and solar physics, Solar System studies, stellar and galactic chemical evolution, nuclear astrophysics, and history of astronomy.
