The Kore University of Enna is involved in activities related to the technological (material science, aerospace, infrastuctures) and fundamental research (nuclear astrophysics, plasma physics, computing). Fundamental research is conducted in close cooperation with the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN)-Italian governative institution for fundamental nuclear research, and in particular with the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) belonging the INFN. In the context of the research in nuclear astrophysics, the university has a well-established expertise in the use of indirect methods and plasmas induced by lasers to measure nuclear reactions at astrophysical energies.
