Astronomical Observatory of Vilnius University is a division at the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astronomy of the Faculty of Physics, Vilnius University. With 3 research groups and more than 20 astronomers, Astronomical Observatory of Vilnius University is the only astronomical research institution in Lithuania. It also runs Moletai Astronomical Observatory, which houses several 1m class telescopes. Scientific research extends over a variety of topics, including studies of stellar atmospheres, investigations of chemodynamical evolution of stellar populations in the Galaxy and beyond, studies of the minor planets in the solar system.
