Chemical Elements as Tracers of the Evolution of the Cosmos

The INFN-LNS laboratories in Catania are equipped with a 14MV Tandem accelerator and a K800 Superconducting Cyclotron.

Nuclear astrophysics aims at understanding nucleosynthesis in the early Universe as well as during stellar evolution. The nuclear astrophysics group in Catania is mostly involved in such field by mainly performing reaction cross section measurements via the application of the indirect method of the Trojan Horse.

The 14MV Tandem MP accelerator in Catania (Italy) is used by the experimental nuclear astrophysics group mainly for application via Trojan Horse Method. A complete list of the available beams can be found at
