UPJS - KOLONICA (SK)
Kolonica observatory, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (Košice, Slovakia)
The university observational facility named Kolonica observatory (http://astronomy.science.upjs.sk/observatory/) is situated at the Astronomical Observatory on Kolonica Saddle operated by the Vihorlat Observatory in Humenné. It is located in the north eastern part of Slovakia, in area of the Dark-Sky Park Poloniny, a place with the best conditions for astronomical observations in Slovakia.
Equipment:
- telescope “Žiga“ (Planewave CDK20, 508mm, f/6,8) on robotic mounting Paramount ME,
- telescope Celestron C9 (230mm, f/10) on robotic mounting CG-5,
- telephoto lens Sigma 2,8/300 on robotic mounting Celestron-CGEM,
- CCD Moravian Instruments G4-16000 and G2-8300 as well as Atik 383L+ (UBVRI and Sloan filter of the second generarion u'g'r'i'z‘),
- echelle spectrograph eShel (Shelyak Instruments) with optical fibre feeding and R=12000.
